SRH vs RR — Head's Blazing 89 Seals Last-Over Thriller

Travis Head's 89 off 42 balls set up SRH's imposing total. Rajasthan needed 14 off the last over but Bhuvneshwar Kumar held his nerve.

Travis Head's pyrotechnics at the top of the order set up an imposing 197 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's death-over mastery denied Rajasthan Royals in a heart-stopping final over at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Head's 89 — built on three sixes in his first four deliveries — gave SRH the platform they needed. The Australian left-hander raced to his fifty in just 22 balls, the joint-fastest of IPL 2026. He was eventually caught at long-on by Trent Boult for 89 off 42.

Rajasthan's chase looked on track at 148/3 after 16 overs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (61) and Riyan Parag (48) at the crease. But two wickets in the 17th over — both caught at deep midwicket — changed the complexion entirely.

Needing 14 off the last over with two wickets in hand, Bhuvneshwar conceded just a two and a single before Sandeep Sharma's run-out ended the contest with the ball. SRH won by 7 runs.
